If you’re looking for a cutting overdrive that has a vintage vibe and playful dynamics, then look no further than the Crimson Drive. The Crimson Drive is based around a single germanium transistor and two germanium diodes. The result is an open sounding drive with excellent harmonics and raw grit that will cut through the most dense mixes. This device cleans up nicely using your instrument’s volume control and works equally well with single coils and humbuckers. The Crimson Drive can go from a gritty treble boost, reminiscent of the Rangemaster, to a rattling overdriven sound reminiscent of a vintage plexi turned to 11. The Crimson Drive is true bypass and handmade by humans in lovely Akron, Ohio.
Upgrades From V1 Include:

Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. Will also run off a 9v battery for you olde tymee types. Do not run at higher voltages!
Current draw is 3 mA.
